Job description

Seasonal Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (260002CP)

InterHealth Medical Staffing Solutions is a for-profit staffing division of Tampa General Hospital, one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in Florida serving a dozen counties with a population of more than six million. Tampa General is affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and serves as the primary teaching hospital for the university. InterHealth is currently hiring for 13‑week contracts with significantly higher base pay and benefits for purchase. We offer opportunities that will allow our seasonal contractors to consider full‑time or part‑time conversions but also be eligible for contract extensions depending on team’s coverage. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within the specific division being hired into and be deemed competent to work independently.

Responsibilities

Provides direct care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation during cardiac/interventional radiology procedures. Performs all technical aspects of nursing care within the framework of established policies and procedures of the hospital. Works under the supervision of the Department Director and Nursing Director. Conducts patient assessment duties such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications as instructed by the physician, and keeping patient records. Updates charts for the medical procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory or interventional radiology. Assists during life‑saving actions such as CPR and defibrillation. Monitors patients during conscious sedation per physician instructions. Administers medication during advanced interventional cardiac/peripheral procedures such as STEMI, PCI, balloon angioplasty, and stent placement.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree of Nursing minimum
  • Florida RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the Cath Lab
