Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Ladgov Corporation is seeking a qualified and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical and student health support services at the Anaconda Job Corps Center in Anaconda, Montana. The Registered Nurse will support the health and wellness needs of Job Corps students by providing nursing assessments, treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, medication administration, health education, referrals, and follow-up care. The RN will work collaboratively with other health, behavioral health, counseling, and Center personnel to promote student wellness and continuity of care.

Schedule: 20 hours per week

Location: Anaconda Job Corps Center – Anaconda, Montana

Job Type: Part-time, Contract Position

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing assessment and primary health support for student illnesses, injuries, and other health concerns.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled student sick-call services and evaluate students presenting with health complaints.
  • Assess and provide appropriate nursing care for minor illnesses and injuries within the authorized scope of practice.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with authorized physician standing orders, established clinical protocols, and applicable nursing standards.
  • Identify students requiring additional medical, dental, mental health, or specialized evaluation and coordinate appropriate referrals.
  • Refer students, as necessary, to physicians, dentists, clinics, community resources, and specialized healthcare providers.
  • Provide follow-up care after medical evaluations, treatments, laboratory testing, injuries, or outside referrals.
  • Communicate appropriately with healthcare providers, clinics, parents/guardians when authorized, mental health professionals, and other relevant parties to support continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student health documentation.
  • Educate and counsel students on personal health and wellness topics, including:
    • Personal hygiene and preventive health.
    • Sexual and reproductive health.
    • Pregnancy prevention.
    • Sexually transmitted infection (STI/STD) and HIV prevention.
    • Healthy lifestyle practices and responsible health decisions.
  • Support students in understanding how physical and emotional health may affect their academic, vocational, and personal success.
  • Collaborate with the Center's Health and Wellness team and other authorized staff regarding student health needs.
  • Follow applicable safety, infection-control, privacy, confidentiality, and clinical procedures.
  • Transport students in Government vehicles when required and authorized.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, active, and unrestricted nursing license valid for practice in the State of Montana.
  • Meet applicable education and professional requirements for the nursing position.
  • Ability to perform assigned clinical duties within the authorized scope of nursing practice.
  • Ability to assess student health concerns and make appropriate clinical decisions, referrals, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with young adults, healthcare providers, families, and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Ability to satisfy all required background, credentialing, suitability, and Center-access requirements.
  • Required professional credentials, resume, and applicable professional liability insurance must be available for review and approval prior to beginning services.
  • Must obtain required approval before providing services at the Center.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in student health, school nursing, adolescent/young-adult healthcare, occupational health, community health, urgent care, or similar clinical environments.
  • Experience conducting nursing assessments and managing minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Experience with medication administration and physician standing orders.
  • Experience providing health education and preventive-health counseling.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare and student-support team.

Additional Requirement: The position may require the nurse to drive students in Government-provided vehicles. The selected candidate must therefore be able to satisfy all applicable authorization, licensing, training, and driving requirements associated with this responsibility.
