  • Applicants must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Applicants must be willing to travel out of town 60-80% of the time
  • Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

What You Bring to the Table

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean driving record
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • First Aid Certification or willing to get before start date
  • Strong organizational skills to manage one's own work and the work of others.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, problem-solve, and analyze.
  • Able to work long hours (10+ per day)
  • Comfortable using smart hardware, i.e. tablets, smartphones, and computers.


About the Opportunity

This work includes but is not limited to the safe application & record keeping of pesticides/herbicides, operation of UTVs & trucks in local and remote locations, equipment maintenance, and all other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

  • Conduct pre-application site assessments to identify target pests or weeds and assess environmental conditions
  • Apply pesticides and herbicides following established safety guidelines and environmental regulations
  • Calculate and mix chemical solutions based on specific requirements dependent on target species
  • Keep detailed records of pesticide and herbicide applications, including quantities used and locations treated
  • Drive trucks with an attached trailer


Training

Cortex will assist you in attaining all certifications except First Aid.

  • Authorized Assistant Pesticide Applicator Certificate
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Fire Extinguisher Certification
  • TDG Certification
  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS-2020)
  • ATV/UTV Safe Rider Certification
  • Respirator Fit test (half mask)
