Job description

Overview / Objective:

We are seeking an Audio Engineer to join our Audio Operations team; a group of audio specialists collaborating to efficiently traffic all audio that passes through NFL Films. Working in conjunction with the broader audio teams, including field recordists and post-mixers, our Audio Operations team provides vital contributions to NFL Films production operations and to the longevity of the content that is being created daily. The role requires the ability to work to deadlines in a high volume, detail-focused environment and a broad knowledge of all aspects of audio in a post-production environment.

Responsibilities:

Intake, catalog, database, archive and distribute daily field audio recordings across all NFL Films productions.

Sync daily original camera footage with corresponding audio files, rendering new files for archival and editing.

Edit and catalogue select plays from game radio broadcasts and post to Avid Interplay System

Digitize and archive historic audio from multiple media formats (16/35mm mag, " reel to reel audio, DAT, Cassette, mini-disc, etc.) to DaVinci Resolve/Fairlight workstations and attached storage system.

Deliver various raw and specially curated Audio Operations deliverables to an Avid Interplay system.

Obtain numerous audio-only files from outside clients (voice over recordings, licensed music, externally acquired material, etc.) for catalog, archival and distribution.

Perform final audio only deliveries to internal and external clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness during tight turnaround working environments.

Edit and catalog specially curated NFL sound effects captured on location.

Required Qualifications:

A working knowledge of Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) with experience in Resolve/Fairlight systems a plus.

Background in general aspects of digital audio recording, signal flow, editing and mixing.

Proficient at using multiple computer platforms and file management programs.

Availability to work on all weekends and holidays during the NFL season.

Broad understanding of NFL rules, teams, plays, and gameplay terminology.

Preferred Qualifications: 

4-year degree or equivalent education 

2 years of experience in a professional Audio environment
