Job description

Are you ready to define how Amazon scales hardware retrofits across its autonomous robotics fleet. The RTS Process Engineering team is seeking a senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to lead the strategy, execution, and expansion of our retrofit programs across fielded robotics products. You will own the full portfolio of active retrofit programs - setting the operational cadence, building execution frameworks, establishing vendor partnerships, and driving expansion into new product lines where no playbook exists today.
This role demands both strategic vision and hands-on execution

You will define how the Retrofits team operates at scale: standardizing intake processes, building automation to accelerate delivery, establishing quality verification mechanisms, and creating the playbooks that enable consistent execution across hundreds of fulfillment centers. You will partner with senior leadership across product engineering, supply chain, and field operations to influence program priorities, negotiate resources, and resolve the cross-organizational dependencies that determine whether retrofits ship on time.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end retrofit portfolio strategy: program prioritization, resource allocation, vendor capacity planning, and execution cadence across all active retrofit programs
- Drive the expansion of retrofit capabilities into new product lines - define the workflow, establish vendor relationships, build the playbook, and execute the first programs from scratch
- Establish and maintain portfolio-level metrics (on-time completion rate, on-time material delivery) and reporting mechanisms for leadership visibility
- Standardize the funding submission process with templated packages, pre-validated cost models, and streamlined approval frameworks
- Design and implement retrofit program management automation: project creation, best-practice templates, critical path mapping, and stakeholder notification systems
- Formalize installation quality verification processes - define inspection criteria, build quality check templates, and ensure consistent execution across vendor partners
- Influence product engineering decisions by providing deployment feasibility feedback, quantifying retrofit complexity, and advocating for design-for-serviceability improvements
- Mentor TIPMs on the team, perform promotion assessments, and actively develop team capability
A day in the life
Your morning starts with a portfolio review - assessing program health across a dozen active retrofits, identifying which need your direct intervention. You adjust critical paths for a material delay, then spend time defining an execution workflow for a new product line where no process exists

Before lunch, you present quarterly metrics to your Director and make a resource case for expansion. After lunch, you lead a vendor evaluation, coach a team member through a scheduling conflict, and review the automation spec your team drafted.
Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children can use. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment

The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include:
1. Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
2. Maternity and Parental Leave Options
3.

Paid Time Off (PTO)
4. 401(k) Plan
If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you. At Amazon, we value people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets.

If you're passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply!
About the team
The RTS Retrofits team manages hardware modifications and firmware updates across Amazon's fielded robotics fleet. We own the full retrofit lifecycle and are at an inflection point - expanding into new product lines, building automation, and scaling deployments per week. You will join as the senior program leader where you define how retrofit operations work at Amazon scale.
