Job description

AI Creative Director – Performance Creative

📍 US – New York / California

I’m looking for a highly hands-on AI Creative Director to join a fast-growing creative business producing high-volume, performance-led content for online and consumer brands.

Please read carefully

This isn’t a traditional Creative Director role - you’ll be hands-on making the work yourself – combining generative AI, prompt engineering, AI-first creative workflows and Adobe Creative Suite to rapidly turn ideas into high-performing social creative.

The focus is on creating hooks, thumb-stopping imagery and video, and performance ads designed to drive clicks, engagement and conversion.

AI Toolkit

You’ll need to be genuinely hands-on with generative AI, with strong prompt engineering skills and experience combining multiple tools into effective creative workflows.

Your toolkit is likely to include several of:

Midjourney, Magnifiq, Flux, Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, Runway, Kling, Seedance, Veo, Higgsfield and Adobe Firefly, or similar emerging image and video generation platforms.

You don't need to know every platform, but you should understand how to select and combine the right tools to move quickly from idea → generation → iteration → finished creative.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating high-volume AI-generated performance creative for paid social and digital channels
  • Using generative AI tools to rapidly develop imagery, video, concepts and creative variations
  • Writing and refining sophisticated prompts to achieve consistent, high-quality outputs
  • Building efficient AI-first creative workflows
  • Developing strong visual hooks and scroll-stopping concepts for platforms including Meta, Instagram and TikTok
  • Taking AI-generated assets into Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects to edit, composite, animate and finish
  • Creating multiple iterations and variations for creative testing
  • Working alongside performance teams to understand what's driving CTR, CPA, ROAS and conversion
  • Using performance data to iterate and improve creative
  • Constantly testing new AI models, tools and production techniques

What I'm looking for

  • Strong hands-on experience with AI image and video generation
  • Excellent prompt engineering skills
  • Experience developing repeatable AI creative workflows
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Photoshop, Premiere Pro and/or After Effects
  • A strong understanding of performance marketing and performance creative
  • Experience creating social advertising designed to generate measurable results
  • A strong instinct for hooks, composition, pacing and thumb-stopping creative
  • The ability to generate and execute ideas extremely quickly
  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality AI, social, digital or performance creative

This role will suit someone who is as comfortable prompting and experimenting inside the latest AI platforms as they are finishing and refining the work in Adobe Creative Suite.

US-based – New York or California both work well for the role.

MUST be based in the United States
