Position Title: Seasonal Research Support Clerk
Reports to: Director of Field Operations
Department: Field Operations
Classification: Seasonal, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Pay: $19.75 - $20.50 an hour. Effective July 1 New Rate: $20.25 - $21.00 an hour.

We are looking for Seasonal Research Support Clerk to assist with a summer research project conducted in coordination with the Quality Control team at the Flavor Evaluation Station. This role will support ongoing field and lab-based research activities by operating basic lab equipment and accurately recording data.
The Seasonal Research Support Clerk will be expected to work at least 6 days a week during our Fresh-Pack Season from mid-July to late September. Our Cannery runs 24/7 so flexibility to work any shift (Days, Swing or Graveyard) is required.
This position will be primarily responsible to:
  • Support research activities in partnership with Field Operations and QC teams.
  • Operate basic laboratory equipment with training provided.
  • Accurately collect, record, and maintain research data.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with setup, execution, and cleanup of research trials.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress and observations.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to learn and operate basic lab equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
  • 1 year of data entry skills and computer skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong reliability and attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a lab, production, agricultural, or research environment.
  • Familiarity with data collection or QA/QC processes.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and moderate fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or less sitting, 25% or more walking, and 50% or more standing. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a cannery environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 30 lbs. is required.
