Job description

Role Overview
*Fully Remote*
The Search Optimization Manager will own the strategy, roadmap, execution, and measurement of Lido Labs' SEO, GEO, and AEO efforts across our portfolio of brands. This role sits at the intersection of technical SEO, content strategy, analytics, AI search visibility, and conversion-focused digital marketing.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful, hands-on search expert who understands how to improve organic visibility in Google while also preparing our brands for the evolving search landscape, including AI Overviews, LLM-generated answers, answer engines, and zero-click search environments.
This person will work cross-functionally with copywriters, developers, product stakeholders, analytics resources, and marketing leadership to improve discoverability, authority, traffic quality, and revenue contribution from organic, default, and direct channels.
This is an independent contributor role for someone who can set strategy, define KPIs, identify opportunities, build a roadmap, and drive projects through execution.
What You'll Do
Search Strategy & Roadmap
  • Own the SEO, GEO, and AEO strategy across Lido Labs brands and digital properties.
  • Build and manage a search optimization roadmap that prioritizes the highest-impact technical, content, and AI visibility opportunities.
  • Define KPIs and reporting frameworks that connect search performance to business outcomes, including revenue, lead quality, conversion rate, and channel growth.
  • Identify opportunities to increase visibility across traditional search, AI Overviews, answer engines, LLMs, and other emerging discovery platforms.
  • Translate search trends, algorithm updates, and AI search changes into actionable recommendations for the marketing team.
Technical SEO
  • Lead technical SEO audits and identify issues related to crawlability, indexation, site architecture, page speed, internal linking, canonicalization, redirects, XML sitemaps, and robots directives.
  • Partner with developers to scope, prioritize, QA, and validate technical SEO improvements.
  • Recommend and support implementation of structured data, schema markup, entity optimization, and other technical enhancements that improve search engine and AI readability.
  • Monitor site health and proactively identify risks or opportunities that may impact organic visibility.
  • Ensure landing pages, templates, and site structures follow SEO/AEO best practices.
Content SEO, GEO & AEO
  • Partner with copywriters and content stakeholders to create content strategies that support keyword visibility, topical authority, and AI extraction.
  • Conduct keyword research, content gap analysis, search intent mapping, and competitive analysis.
  • Develop content briefs and optimization recommendations for new and existing pages.
  • Improve content structure for both human readers and AI systems, including clear definitions, entity-rich sections, comparison content, FAQs, schema opportunities, and citation-ready summaries.
  • Help establish best practices for content that can perform in Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and other answer-driven platforms.
  • Support ongoing testing around AI visibility, LLM citation share, and brand presence in generative search results.
Analytics, Reporting & Revenue Accountability
  • Monitor and report on search performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SearchAtlas, and other SEO/GEO platforms.
  • Track organic, default, and direct channel performance with a focus on revenue growth and business impact.
  • Analyze rankings, impressions, clicks, engagement, conversions, revenue contribution, and content performance.
  • Build recurring reports that clearly communicate what is working, what is changing, and where the next opportunities are.
  • Diagnose traffic or revenue changes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing to set measurable goals and evaluate performance against KPIs.
Cross-Functional Execution
  • Work closely with copywriters, developers, analytics, paid media, lifecycle marketing, and leadership to execute search initiatives.
  • Turn strategic recommendations into clear project requirements, briefs, tickets, and implementation plans.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive initiatives from discovery through completion.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for search engine optimization, generative engine optimization, answer engine optimization, AI visibility, and modern search best practices.
  • Create playbooks, documentation, and repeatable processes that improve search optimization maturity across the organization.
What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in SEO, organic growth, digital marketing, or search optimization.
  • Strong understanding of both technical SEO and content SEO.
  • Experience improving organic visibility, search performance, and conversion outcomes.
  • Familiarity with GEO, AEO, AI Overviews, LLM visibility, answer engines, and emerging AI search trends.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms such as SearchAtlas, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Screaming Frog, BrightEdge, Conductor, or similar tools.
  • Ability to conduct technical SEO audits and make recommendations related to crawlability, indexation, site architecture, schema, page speed, and internal linking.
  • Strong content strategy skills, including keyword research, intent mapping, content gap analysis, and on-page optimization.
  • Understanding of structured data, schema markup, E-E-A-T principles, entity optimization, and AI-readable content structure.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect search performance to revenue, conversions, and business impact.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to move work forward independently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical and strategic concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working across multiple brands or digital properties.
  • Experience in competitive or compliance-sensitive industries.
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Experience working directly with developers on technical SEO implementation.
  • Experience with AI search tracking, LLM visibility tools, or emerging GEO/AEO platforms.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how front-end development impacts SEO.
  • Experience creating SEO briefs, technical tickets, content playbooks, or executive-facing performance reports.
  • Familiarity with conversion rate optimization and landing page testing.
Who You Are
  • A strategic thinker who can also execute hands-on.
  • A self-starter who does not need to be told what to do next.
  • A strong problem solver who can identify opportunities, prioritize work, and drive projects to completion.
  • A clear communicator who can collaborate with copywriters, developers, and leadership.
  • A data-driven marketer who understands that search performance must connect to revenue.
  • Curious about the future of search and motivated to help brands stay visible as AI changes how people discover information.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, experimentation, and building new processes from the ground up.
Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Clear SEO/GEO/AEO roadmaps are created, prioritized, and actively executed.
  • Organic, default, and direct revenue contribution grows over time.
  • Technical SEO issues are identified, scoped, and resolved.
  • Content is better structured for Google, AI Overviews, LLMs, and answer engines.
  • Lido Labs brands gain stronger visibility, authority, and discoverability across traditional and AI-powered search environments.
  • Cross-functional teams understand what needs to be done and why it matters.
  • Search optimization becomes a more measurable, accountable, and scalable growth lever for the business.
