Job description

Purpose:

The Content Operations Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end quality, consistency, and operational efficiency of digital and eCommerce content. This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, site merchandising, and process optimization—ensuring product detail pages, category content, and digital assets meet brand standards and drive conversion. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and can translate data and cross-functional inputs into clean, publish-ready content.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:

Content Production & Quality

  • Author, review, and publish product descriptions, titles, attributes, and digital copy for eCommerce channels.
  • Audit live site content to identify gaps, errors, and inconsistencies; manage correction workflows to resolution.
  • Enforce content style guides, brand voice, and SEO best practices across all product categories.
  • Coordinate with Merchandising, Marketing, and Vendors to gather and validate content inputs.

Content Operations & Process

  • Manage content intake workflows—tracking requests, priorities, and delivery timelines across multiple stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update content in PIM (Product Information Management) systems, CMS platforms, and internal databases.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and recommend improvements to increase throughput and reduce error rates.
  • Build and maintain content templates, checklists, and SOPs to scale consistent output.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Track content completeness, publish rates, and quality KPIs; report findings to leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Partner with analytics teams to connect content attributes to site performance metrics (conversion, bounce rate, search rank).
  • Surface content-driven opportunities and risks based on data analysis and stakeholder feedback.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the content operations point of contact for Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Technology teams.
  • Participate in new product launch planning to ensure content readiness by go-live dates.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new team members on content tools and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in content operations, digital merchandising, eCommerce, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a CMS, PIM, or DAM platform (e.g., Apptentive, Salsify, Contentful, Drupal).
  • Strong written communication skills with an eye for detail, grammar, and brand consistency.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking, reporting, and data validation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with SEO principles and keyword optimization for product content.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing or content performance analysis tools.
  • Exposure to workflow management tools such as Asana, Jira, or Monday.com.
  • Background in retail, home improvement, or hard-surface flooring categories.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, or a related field.

Core Competencies

  • Attention to Detail — Consistently produces accurate, error-free work at scale.
  • Operational Mindset — Looks for systems and process improvements, not just one-off fixes.
  • Cross-Functional Communication — Translates needs between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ownership — Takes end-to-end accountability for content from intake through publication.
  • Adaptability — Navigates shifting priorities and ambiguous requirements with composure.
