Lamark's methodology is to create a custom omni-channel strategy that leverages digital marketing assets like a portfolio which can be measured, optimized, and scaled for long-term success.
The company was founded in 2009 with the vision of developing a full-service platform that provides a comprehensive suite of digital marketing services in-house with an agnostic approach to driving growth.
Our mission is to create more value for others. Our core values inspire us to over-deliver on expectations and to create more success for the partners we serve.
Join our team of smart, passionate, collaborative, results-driven do-ers. We work hard every day to deliver remarkable experiences to our clients, and ultimately, their customers.
Director, SEO/AEO

The Director, SEO, is responsible for department performance, operational excellence, team leadership, and service innovation. This is a leadership role for someone who can think like an operator, act like a strategist, and build like an entrepreneur.
The right candidate will be:
  • A proven leader with agency experience
  • Revenue-minded, not ranking-minded
  • Experienced in building and scaling processes
  • Comfortable owning outcomes across people, process, and performance
  • Passionate about nurturing people in a high-performance culture

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own SEO department revenue and strengthen client retention
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth and support new business by shaping SEO strategy, scoping, and resourcing
  • Ensure client strategies tie directly to measurable business outcomes
  • Oversee delivery quality and ensure consistent execution through scalable systems, QA processes, and reporting standards
  • Improve operational efficiency to drive stronger margins and align resourcing, forecasting, and capacity planning
  • Lead a team of 6, with direct management of the Associate Director and indirect oversight of the broader team
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of SEO talent by setting performance expectations, ensuring accountability, and elevating strategic thinking
  • Develop frameworks, playbooks, standardized deliverables, and SOPs that allow for team scalability and cross-team functionality, integrating automation and AI when applicable
  • Act as a senior strategic lead across key accounts, ensuring proactive, insight-driven recommendations that reinforce agency value

SUCCESS METRICS
  • Business unit revenue growth
  • Client retention rate
  • Service margins and contribution to client profitability
  • Delivery quality and consistency
  • Team performance and development

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 8+ years of professional experience in SEO-focused roles, with demonstrated experience leading teams, owning client outcomes, and scaling operations.
  • Agency tenure: experience working in an agency or fast-paced digital environment required.
  • Accountability for retention, margin, revenue: previous positions have required management of department-level responsibilities.
  • Forward-thinking approach to organic: has already developed practices and/or packages for AEO, "search everywhere," and has used automation and/or AI to improve efficiency or scalability.
  • Passion for people management: genuine interest in nurturing team members' growth and experience leading other leaders.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills: ability to keep team delivery on track while managing strategic business priorities.
  • Presentation & Communication Skills: Strong ability to present ideas, strategies, and performance results to clients in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Remote work experience:a history of successfully managing people and priorities in a remote setting through team collaboration tools.

PERKS AND BENEFITS
  • Incredible company culture - we are passionate about the impact we make every day; we balance freedom with responsibility, and we aim for a consultative, transparent, and communicative approach in both our internal and client relationships
  • Diverse and forward-thinking environment
  • Great career growth opportunity-you'll have direct access to agency leadership
  • Company-assisted medical insurance programs, life insurance, optional vision and dental insurance programs, and short-term and long-term disability offered
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Company events and industry conferences
