Job description

A paraprofessional employee is one who assists with the teaching-learning process under the supervision of a certified teacher or other professional or other adult duties helpful to teachers
Position
Under the direct supervision of a certified special education staff member, to assist certified professional staff in supporting students in the classroom. This is an East Kingston Position that will take place at Seacoast Classical Academy in a 5th grade classroom. 
These duties include:




  • Preparation of materials.
  • Supervision of children in the classroom, in school activities, at recess, during bus arrival and dismissal, and at other times when asked.
  • Primary concern during supervision is to keep children:
    • safe physically and emotionally;
    • following rules;
    • developing problem solving skills;
    • communicating with adults regarding their interactions while at school.
  • Communication with teachers and other professionals regarding duties.
  • Participation in staff development activities within the school day.


Evaluation of performance will include:

  • Student planners/notebooks completed in professional manner & consistently charts progress
