Interns typically focus on lead generation, qualifying prospects, and scheduling meetings for senior sales representatives. The internship offers hands-on experience in sales, communication, and CRM tools, all while working remotely. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in starting a career in sales or business development.

What are some common challenges faced by SDR remote interns, and how can they overcome them?

SDR remote interns often face challenges such as staying motivated in a virtual environment, managing time effectively, and building relationships with both prospects and team members. Hello, we’re Instrumentl.
We’re a mission-driven startup helping the nonprofit sector to drive impact, and we’re well on our way to becoming the #1 most-loved grant discovery and management tool. To help us get there, we’re hiring a remote Sales Development Representative to represent Instrumentl to prospective clients.

About us:
Instrumentl is a hyper-growth YC-backed startup with over 4,500 nonprofit clients, from local homeless shelters to larger organizations like the San Diego Zoo and the University of Alaska. We are building the future of fundraising automation, helping nonprofits to discover, track, and manage grants efficiently through our SaaS platform.

Our charts are dramatically up-and-to-the-right \uD83D\uDCC8 — we’re cash flow positive and growing quickly, with customers who love us (NPS is 65+ and Ellis PMF survey is 60+). Join us on this rocket ship!

About the role:
In this role, you’ll be helping organizations big and small get access to more resources so they can grow their impact.

Over the past year, we’ve seen great results reaching out to universities and non-profits to let them know about Instrumentl, and now we are growing a dedicated team to scale this effort.  We are looking for someone who loves the idea of spending all day on the phone with non-profits and universities.

But, we’re not just looking for a typical sales rep. We are looking for someone who wants to build a sales career and do good at the same time.

This role is perfect for a sales professional early on in their career, or someone looking to career switch into sales, that wants to help some of the best organizations in the world.

The Instrumentl team is fully distributed.

  • Learn how our value proposition applies to different types of organizations, so that you can engage in quality conversation on the phone
  • Spend 10% of your time collaborating with other departments and/or working on experiments that we think have the potential to be a force multiplier
An excellent hire will:
  • Book 10+ demos for the team every week through top of funnel outreach (we have people doing more than 10/week today)
  • Win over organizations with fast follow through, strong attention to detail, and palpable customer empathy
  • Communicate insights and blockers from conversations to help inform how to make our pitch better
About You:
  • A recent graduate or early in your career
  • Ability to thrive working in a remote sales environment
  • Interested in sales, startups, or customer-facing roles
  • Comfortable talking to new people and building relationships
  • You welcome feedback, champion new ideas, and encourage others to do likewise
  • You’re curious and are constantly ‘getting to the bottom of things’
  • You don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and doing hard work
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus (not required):

Compensation & benefits:
  • OTE $60,000-$75,000
  • 100% covered health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (50% for dependents)

  • 401(k)
  • Company laptop + stipend to set up your home workstation
  • Company retreats for in-person time with your colleagues
  • Work with awesome nonprofits around the US. We partner with incredible organizations doing meaningful work, and you get to help power their success.
