POSITION: MATERIAL HANDLER - DISTRIBUTION
SHIFT 2nd Shift - Mon - Fri 4 pm- 2:30 am

SCOPE – MATERIAL HANDLER - DISTRIBUTION
The Material Handler is responsible for operating a forklift / Pallet Jack to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. They are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform other warehouse duties. This is a freezer warehouse environment with temperatures between zero and thirty-two degrees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – MATERIAL HANDLER - DISTRIBUTION
  • Unloading and loading trailers and verifying proper stacking and freight
  • Reporting shortages damages and misplacements to your immediate supervisor
  • Identifying and recovering any received or shipping damage
  • Ensuring proper stock rotation by following lot number identification
  • Pulling and preparing product for shipment
  • Ensuring that the exact number and type of product is located and shipped.
  • Making certain product comes from the proper locations.
  • Performing picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
  • Moving product from the staging or storage areas into railcars or trailers
  • Stacking and staging product and materials
  • Shuttle product between buildings if needed (back-up)
  • Maintaining the facilities, equipment, and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
  • Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Inventory receipt from vendors including documentation, quality review per JTM specs and quantity verification.
  • Communication with internal and external customers per JTM Way
SUCCESS CRITERIA – MATERIAL HANDLER - DISTRIBUTION
  • Safety/GMP/Food Safety/Quality policies followed.
  • BRC Compliance
  • Reporting accuracy met.
  • Customer requirements met.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS – MATERIAL HANDLER - DISTRIBUTION
  • Ability to build strong relationships, provide excellent customer service and problem solve
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team-oriented setting.
  • Able to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school degree or equivalent certification
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Forklift training and experience
  • Capable of operating forklifts and their attachments
  • Good math and reading skills.
  • Capable of following verbal and written instructions
  • Availability to work various shifts.
  • Capable of standing and walking extended periods of time
  • Must pass written and driving forklift exam.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Capable of working efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • This position is an onsite position.
