Are you ready to make a significant impact in the aerospace industry? PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a talented and experienced Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Pay Rate: $75.00/hr

 Position Overview

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Sr. Advanced Mechanical Engineer to support production, supplier transition, quality, and value engineering initiatives for gas turbine engine Fan Components (FanC). This role requires strong analytical expertise, engineering judgment, and hands-on experience with engine design, manufacturing, and finite element analysis.

The successful candidate will evaluate components and systems, support design changes, perform engineering analyses, and provide technical leadership across aerospace manufacturing and supplier development activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering evaluations on gas turbine engine FanC components and systems.
  • Support production, supplier transition, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Review and support:
    • FAIRs
    • RMRAs
    • Quality Notifications (QNs)
    • Design Change Requests (ECNs, EMAs, Deviation Waivers)
    • Supplier substantiation documentation (ESA, STICS, STR, FTR, SCS)
  • Conduct:
    • Thermal Analysis
    • Stress Analysis
    • Modal Analysis
    • Fatigue Analysis
    • Vibration Analysis
    • Deflection and Life Evaluations
  • Perform 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Collaborate with local and global engineering teams.
  • Create Statements of Work (SOWs) and review engineering analysis outputs.
  • Support manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and Chief Engineers with technical problem-solving.
  • Drive process improvements that reduce manufacturing costs and cycle times.
  • Support Agile development and engineering transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience performing engineering analysis in aerospace or related industries.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Gas turbine engine industry experience.
  • System-level understanding of gas turbine engines and APUs.
  • Strong GD&T and drawing interpretation skills.
  • Experience with:
    • CAD modeling
    • ANSYS or equivalent FEA tools
    • Structured Light Scanning (GOM)
  • Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes:
    • Casting
    • Machining
    • Welding
    • Heat Treatment
  • Experience with:
    • Supplier qualification and substantiation
    • Quality investigations
    • Design change processes
    • Fatigue and stress analysis

Pay Details: $75.00 per hour
