Makai is seeking a Project Manager with significant Scrum Master experience to lead efforts directly associated with the Air Force (AF) C3BM (Command and Control, Battle Management) PEO Director of Engineering. Responsibilities include oversight for the architecture, design, analysis and implementation of digital twin models (for AF networks and systems), support the identification and integration of emerging technologies, and support of a newly designed and approved NetWorthiness process. Scrum Master duties involve working closely with AF senior leaders and cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop, document, and implement process/task management procedures. The SCRUM Master / Project Manager will perform the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the programs and projects supporting Air Force communications systems, ensuring that all objectives are met, and deliveries are completed on time.
Serving in a cross functional role as SCRUM Master / Project Manager, supporting the C3BM Governance Directorate, a seasoned professional will have the ability to work closely with Senior AF Leaders and cross functional engineering teams, responsible for facilitating Agile processes and managing strategic initiatives that enhance the development of governance and oversight processes across mission-critical programs. Your duties will directly support alignment of C3BM governance policies, tracking program milestones, managing risk, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Directly report to senior AF leaders within the AFRL and PEO C3BM organizations
  • Communicate Project and Program status to stakeholders and leadership, through both written and verbal lines of communication
  • Continuously improve program risk management processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, subject matter experts, and mission operators, to gather insights and expertise on newly developed technologies
  • Assist stakeholders with transformation of analysis to communications acquisition action plans
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews
  • Champion Agile principles while aligning with business objectives and timelines.
  • Report on the status of project scope, resources, schedules, risks, and budgets to ensure on-time delivery
  • Track and report performance indicators providing transparency on team progress and project health daily
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical stakeholders during meetings and briefings
  • Flexibility to solve problems using strong analytical skill set

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
  • Work assignments vary based on client requirements.
  • Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
  • General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.
  • You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work
  • No regular travel in support of this contract, however ad-hoc travel may be required
  • Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
  • Candidates must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels.

  • Grooming and dress is usually business casual, but dependent on client's standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.

Estimated Compensation
  • $140,000 - $155,000

Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to employee's experience, skills, education, industry, location, company size, and overall market demand.
