Job description

Agile Business Analyst / Project Manager @ IL - Hybrid
Job Summary
Seeking an Agile Business Analyst / Project Manager to support a client in the insurance industry located in the western Chicago suburbs. This is a 9-month contract engagement (through year-end 2026) with a preference for candidates that can follow a hybrid commute (2-3 days per week onsite).
This role will split across two areas approximately 50/50. The first portion will be as the operational core of a new Rapid Delivery team, blending business analysis, light Agile facilitation (Scrum coordination), and project coordination responsibilities. The second area will support more traditional business analysis and project management work on projects (separate from the Rapid Delivery team). The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery resources, ensuring that incoming requests are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for execution. This position requires strong stakeholder management skills, the ability to guide prioritization discussions, and a structured approach to managing delivery workflows.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead intake, clarification, and documentation of business requests, ensuring readiness for development
  • Partner with stakeholders to define requirements, scope, dependencies, and success criteria
  • Facilitate prioritization activities with a Product Owner steering group, guiding backlog refinement and sequencing
  • Translate business needs into user stories and actionable work items within Azure DevOps
  • Support Agile delivery processes, including standups, backlog management, and sprint tracking
  • Monitor delivery progress, identify risks or blockers, and proactively drive resolution
  • Maintain visibility into team capacity, resource constraints, and workload balancing
  • Provide additional support across project management and business analysis activities as needed

Required Skills & Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Project Management, Scrum Master, or hybrid roles
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience guiding prioritization discussions
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements and translating them into delivery-ready work items
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and supporting tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Solid technical acumen to effectively collaborate with development and IT teams
  • Experience in insurance or similar industries preferred
