Job description

IT Project Manager / Scrum Master Insurance

IT Project Manager / Scrum Master @three (3) days per week on-site (Lake Forest, IL) area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of multiple concurrent small- to medium-sized IT projects from planning through implementation and transition
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource plans, and delivery documentation
  • Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives as appropriate
  • Partner with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, establish priorities, and maintain alignment throughout delivery
  • Track project progress, identify risks and dependencies, remove or escalate blockers, and drive mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate internal technical resources, business teams, and third-party vendors to ensure commitments and deliverables remain on track
  • Maintain project and delivery information within Azure DevOps and other established project management tools
  • Provide clear status updates and communicate project risks, issues, decisions, and progress to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ensure projects follow established PMO, Agile, SDLC, and governance practices while adapting the approach to the needs of each initiative


Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing IT projects or technology initiatives, preferably within an insurance, financial services, or similarly complex enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan and drive projects from initiation through implementation
  • Practical experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project delivery practices
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives, priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps or comparable Agile/project management platforms
  • Strong risk identification, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and third-party vendors
  • Experience coordinating vendor-supported technology projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving delivery issues
