Certified Scrub Tech (Contract)
Position Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Specialty: Nursing
Sub Specialty: Scrub Technologist
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour day shifts, Full-Time
Experience Required: Minimum 2 Years
Holiday Coverage: Required
License Requirement: Active State License Required

The Certified Scrub Technician is responsible for the safe, sterile setup and handling of all surgical instrumentation during both scheduled and emergency surgical procedures. This role includes gathering all required instruments and supplies based on surgeon preference cards and maintaining a sterile field throughout surgical cases.

The ideal candidate must be capable of working efficiently under pressure, handling departmental responsibilities professionally, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting organizational goals and values.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments.
  • Set up and handle surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
  • Gather required instruments and supplies according to surgeon preference sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and sterile processing standards.
  • Assist surgical teams during scheduled and emergency procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with department personnel, hospital staff, physicians, vendors, and repair representatives.
  • Perform additional departmental and clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current ORT Certification required.
  • Current Operating Room experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Scrub Technician.
  • BLS/BCLS Certification required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
