OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Tommie Athletics Marketing and Promotions Student Lead InternLOCATION: St. PaulPAY RATE: 16.50
Job Summary
The St. Thomas Athletic marketing office is seeking undergraduate student lead interns to assist as part of the marketing and promotions staff during the school year. Marketing and promotions student interns will work closely with a variety of St. Thomas Athletics programs, execute in-game activities, and improve fan experience. In addition to gameday responsibilities, lead interns will have regular office hours to help advance the overall marketing efforts for the department and learn tangible real-world marketing skills.
Essential Functions
  • Execute promotional activities on-court/ice/field to fulfill sponsorships, connect with fans, and encourage repeat attendance at games
  • Improve game atmosphere through promotions, giveaways, contests, music, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service to fans attending St. Thomas Athletics events
  • Coordinate with event management and other departments prior to and during events to ensure proper set up of promotional and gameday activities
  • Assist with gameday script writing, promotional copywriting, and grassroots marketing efforts
  • Develop fan affinity for the St. Thomas Athletics brand through a variety of initiatives, including Purple Perks Rewards program, student promotions, and outreach to St. Thomas fans throughout the Twin Cities metro
  • Oversee marketing efforts for select St. Thomas Athletics programs and initiatives under the supervision of full-time marketing staff members
  • Provide recommendations and idea generation to full-time staff with the primary objective of driving ticket sales, generating revenue, increasing student attendance, and improving the fan experience
  • Other marketing duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current University of St. Thomas undergraduate student
  • Interest in the business side of collegiate athletics and marketing
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work up to 2-4 hours weekly during traditional business hours

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
