Valiant is looking for a Media on the Battlefield Specialist to join our team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and produce a wide variety of media products in support of the JRTC Operations Group.
  • These products include radio broadcast, photography, video recording, news reporting, television, and newspapers production.
  • MOB Specialists perform any or all of the following media-specific tasks: write articles for the rotational newspaper based on actual rotational training exercise events; editing, layout, and production of these newspaper articles.
  • Television broadcast include onsite media interviews, video recording, script writing and editing of self-produced news packages.
  • Village reporting includes, hourly radio broadcast, media interviews, and unilateral stand up journalist.
  • MOB Specialists may be required to perform these tasks within specific Role Player roles in accordance with the rotational exercise scenario and JRTC Exercise rules of Engagement.
  • All products produced are the sole property of the JRTC.
  • Performs other duties consistent with Valiant Video Branch Performance Work Statement requirements as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Current NACI or security clearance. Applicant must obtain a NACI or security clearance for government computer access within a trial period of time not to extend 1yrs beyond date of hire. If denied an interim NACI or security clearance you will be removed from the schedule until conflict is resolved or clearance granted.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: High School graduate and/or education or experience in creative writing/journalism/radio/news.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Exhibit good written and oral communications skills, able to speak in front of a camera/audience.
  • Have a high proficiency in Microsoft Office programs that include Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of standard military terminologies and radio procedures.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours that include weekends.
  • Must be able to travel unaccompanied throughout the continental US and foreign countries.
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.
  • Must possess a valid Louisiana State Driver's License (or equivalent).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree or higher with an emphasis in Media and Broadcast Journalism.
  • Military or civilian supervisory experience in like setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be in good physical condition, capable of prolonged sitting, standing and walking.
