Job description

Job Requirements:
Writing consultants play animportant role in writing education at Duquesne. They meet individually or insmall groups with students to help them with writing from all stages of theirwriting processes, from brainstorming to revision. Writing consultantsprovide advice and suggestions for a range of writing tasks and concerns, fromdeveloping thesis statements to citing and integrating sources. The Centeroffers a teaching, not a proofreading service. Our goal is to teach writershow to improve. The business writing consultant isthe "go to" consultant for business writing tasks but still works with the fullrange of students who visit the Writing Center. The business writing consultantworks in the Writing Center.  Experience with business writing genresis valuable but not required. Training is provided. In addition to anorientation, one hour every other week is spent at professional developmentmeetings that provide ongoing training.
The position currently pays 18/hour and is funded for 10 hours per week.
Applicants must be full-timestudents in a for-credit degree program and cannot be working another job atDuquesne. Hourly staff members use the time management software Kronos UKG tolog in and out at the beginning and end of shifts. Applications are beingaccepted immediately and will be processed as they are received.
