Job Summary:
The Fountain Group is a company seeking an R&D Software Engineer II to develop and modify computer applications and software solutions. The role involves analyzing user needs, designing software, and potentially supervising programmers, with a focus on the Linux operating system.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
• Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
• May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
• May supervise computer programmers.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with impact assessment of software patches and upgrades.
• Experience in Linux shell scripts, Perl and/or python.
• Working knowledge of Linux development environment tools.
• Required Bachelor's degree and/or related experience
• Ability to execute some Linux commands required – prefer someone who can compile a kernel in Linux
• C, C++, shell scripting, Perl, or python (must have ‘some’ familiarity coding one of these types of languages)
