What is a Script Reader and what does script coverage involve?

A Script Reader is a professional who evaluates screenplays, television scripts, or other written material for production companies, studios, or literary agencies. Script coverage is the process of reading a script and providing a detailed report that includes a summary, analysis of strengths and weaknesses, and a recommendation about whether the script is worth considering for development. This helps decision-makers quickly assess the potential of a project without having to read every script themselves.

What are some common challenges faced by script readers when providing coverage, and how can they be addressed?

Script readers often face the challenge of maintaining objectivity and consistency while reviewing a high volume of scripts with varying quality and genres. Balancing tight deadlines with thorough analysis can also be demanding. To address these challenges, script readers benefit from developing a clear checklist of evaluation criteria, staying organized, and setting aside focused time for each script. Regular feedback from supervisors and collaboration with fellow readers can also help ensure high-quality, unbiased coverage.

What Does a Script Reader Providing Coverage Services Do?

Script reader coverage is the process of creating a brief synopsis or report of a screenplay’s plot, characters, settings, and major points of interest. Movie and television professionals, like producers and directors, use script coverage to quickly understand the broad strokes of a screenplay without needing to sit and read through its entirety. As a script reader providing coverage services, you do read through the entirety of a script, and your responsibilities include taking note of important plot elements, act structure, genre conventions, character development, and pacing, and then coalescing these various elements into a digestible report of no more than a few pages. Due to the specialized nature of your duties, you must have an expert-level understanding of the film industry, film production, and narrative development and conventions.

Our mission at Too Good To Go is to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. It's a big mission, and that's where you come in!
At Too Good To Go, you'll join a team that cares about developing strategic partnerships, making value-based decisions, and finding innovative solutions to the world's food waste crisis. You'll lead an elite team to elevate our U.S. growth and collaborate daily with world-class minds-while doing work that's both high-impact and deeply meaningful.
Core Responsibilities
As a Key Accounts BDR, you are the engine behind our US expansion. This is not a passive role; you are a strategic hunter and will be tasked with breaking into national brands and large-scale franchises. You will spend 80% of your time on outreach and 20% ensuring our largest partnerships are in a position to expand. This is the definitive proving ground for future sales reps within our Key Accounts sales organization.
Proactive Business Development (80%)
  • Strategic Prospecting: Own the end-to-end identification of complex organizations, mapping decision-makers to secure high-value meetings for Key Account reps.

Deep Discovery: Conduct high level discovery to qualify partner fit, ensuring we only pursue opportunities with significant impact and scale
  • Diverse Outreach: Execute high-volume outreach via calls, emails, and LinkedIn, moving beyond scripts to sell the value of Too Good To Go to a broad range of clients over multiple departments

Pipeline Generation: Drive consistent, high-quality meeting volume that translates directly into a robust sales pipeline
Team Support & Sales Operations (20%)
  • Salesforce Management: Command the Salesforce lead flow, ensuring inbound opportunities are prioritized and assigned with speed and accuracy

Onboarding & Activation: Lead the technical setup and activation of new stores, ensuring our partners hit the ground running and see immediate value on the app
  • Joint Strategy: Collaborate with Business Development Managers to design and execute tandem sequences, leveraging shared insights to penetrate high-value targets

If you are looking for a place to grow, own your work, and make an impact-you'll fit right in.
To succeed here, you'll need to embody these four principles:
  • Choose Excellence over Ease: You take initiative and prioritize long-term impact over short-term comfort, consistently pushing for exceptional quality rather than settling for "good enough."
  • Demonstrate Integrity and Responsibility: You do the right thing when no one is watching. You recognize your own agency to influence outcomes and take responsibility -meeting setbacks with solutions and humility rather than excuses.
  • Seek Honesty: You ask questions and prioritize truth over comfort, welcoming candid feedback, and addressing performance directly to ensure we never stop improving.
  • Bring Energy and Joy to the Journey: You take responsibility for the energy you bring to the team, finding meaning in the work while celebrating our shared wins and lessons.
Benefits
Agility & Autonomy
  • Modern Hybrid Model: Maintain a high-performance rhythm with a balance of focused remote work and collaborative office days (3x a week) in our Chicago hub.
  • Global Mobility: The flexibility to work from abroad for up to 30 days per year.
