Job description

Some internships involve filing papers and getting coffee.
This is not one of those internships.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who is competitive, energetic, confident, and not afraid to pick up the phone. Someone who likes the idea of winning. Someone who enjoys talking to people, learning persuasion, and figuring out how to get someone to say โ€œyes.โ€

As a Loan Originator Business Development Intern, youโ€™ll work directly with our sales recruiting sales leadership team to help identify and recruit mortgage loan originators across the country.

Youโ€™ll spend your summer learning the art of outreach, relationship-building, recruiting strategy, and sales communication while helping us build a long-term talent pipeline.

This role is based in our Brookfield office Monday through Thursday during the summer. If things go well, the internship could continue remotely during the school year for approximately 10โ€“15 hours per week.

What Youโ€™ll Actually Do

  • Cold call and connect with mortgage professionals nationwide (we will give you the script)
  • Learn how high-level recruiting and business development really works
  • Help develop a 12-month recruiting and social media strategy
  • Create recruiting campaigns and outreach ideas for LinkedIn and other platforms
  • Research top-performing sales professionals and recruiting targets
  • Track outreach activity and recruiting results
  • Collaborate with leadership on branding, messaging, and recruiting ideas
  • Practice scripts, communication skills, and objection handling

ย

Who Would Be Great at This?

You do not need mortgage experience.

You might be perfect for this if you are:

  • Interested in sales, recruiting, communications, or management
  • Super competitive and motivated by goals
  • Someone who loves performance, persuasion, or public speaking
  • A theater major who can confidently work a script and adapt on the fly
  • A student-athlete who thrives under pressure and loves chasing the win
  • Someone who naturally talks to everyone
  • Curious about how business development and recruiting really work

What Youโ€™ll Learn

  • Sales strategy
  • Professional communication skills
  • Cold calling confidence
  • Social media branding and recruiting
  • CRM and pipeline management
  • How top producers build relationships and influence people

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Strong communication skills
  • Confidence and coachability
  • Positive energy and resilience
  • Comfortable talking on the phone
  • Competitive mindset
  • Organized and reliable
  • Willingness to learn and improve

The Goal

We want someone whoโ€™s excited to grow, compete, and develop real-world business skills โ€” not someone looking for a typical โ€œsit in the cornerโ€ internship.

If youโ€™ve ever thought:

  • โ€œI could sell anything.โ€
  • โ€œI love competition.โ€
  • โ€œIโ€™m good with people.โ€
  • โ€œIโ€™d rather be in the action than watching from the sidelines.โ€

โ€ฆweโ€™d love to meet you.
