About the Role - Systems Integration and Test Engineering Internย 

This intern will support integration testing and functional verification of Peak Energy's energy storage systems, working across BMS, inverters, and other systems from batteries to power electronics.ย 

As Peak Energy scales its ESS testing infrastructure, this role helpsย build outย the benchtop and HIL test capabilities needed toย validateย systems ahead of production.ย 

You'llย work closely with firmware, design, and simulation teams, gaining exposure to the full test lifecycle - from procedure development to execution to reporting.ย 

This role suits a hands-on, curious engineerย who'sย eager to learn by doing and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving startup environment.ย 

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)ย 

  • Support functional testing of BMS, inverters, and other systems across Peak Energy's energy storage productย 
  • Help design, set up, and run benchtop and HIL test setups for validation of the BMSย 
  • Develop and execute test scripts to support test automation effortsย 
  • Assistย in developing test plans and procedures across electrical and mechanical systemsย 
  • Interface with design, simulation, and manufacturing engineering partners to inform design decisionsย 
  • Help analyze test data and document findings for engineering teamsย 
  • Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of issuesย identifiedย during testingย 
  • Participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testingย 

What You'll Bring (Qualifications)ย 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's orย Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related fieldย 
  • Experience interfacing with microcontrollers and writing scripts for functional testingย 
  • Basic familiarity with electromechanical test setupsย 
  • Proficiencyย in Python or similarย 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsย 
  • Comfortable working hands-on with hardware and lab equipmentย 
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovationย 
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.ย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • Exposure to high voltage battery and power electronics systemsย 
  • Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS) architectureย 
  • Coursework or project experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systemsย
