Job description

OmniKair.ai: Now Hiring

Business Development Intern (Outbound)

South Bay / San Jose | Remote-friendly, local market required | Internship, part-time or full-time

THE SHORT VERSION

There's a veterinary clinic in San Jose right now with one person on the front desk, a full appointment book, and a phone that hasn't stopped ringing since 8am. She let three calls go to voicemail this morning. Two were new patients. Neither called back.

We built the thing that fixes that: an AI front desk that answers every call and books directly into her practice's own system. Your job is to get her on the phone, get her to fifteen minutes of attention, and get her to a yes.

WHAT THIS ROLE ACTUALLY IS

You will cold call independent veterinary and dental practices across the South Bay, working from a researched list, to book discovery calls and move prospects toward a pilot. This is not a script-and-dial-1000-numbers internship. You'll do light pre-call research (practice size, current booking setup, obvious pain points), lead with something specific to that clinic, and know enough about the product to handle the first round of real objections yourself.

You'll work supplied lists and help build new ones. You'll be judged on decision-maker conversations and qualified meetings booked, not raw dial count. If a clinic isn't a fit (they already have online scheduling that covers the gap, or the phone genuinely isn't their bottleneck), we want you to say so and move on, not force it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Cold call independent vet and dental practices from a researched, tiered list, front desk first, practice manager or owner as the real target.

- Get the practice manager's name and direct contact on early calls; book a proper discovery conversation on the follow-up, not the first call.

- Handle the first layer of objections ("we already have someone answering," "we're not looking for AI," "send me an email") without needing to escalate.

- Log every call: outcome, objection, next step, in our CRM. A pipeline we can't see is a pipeline we're not running.

- Coordinate with the founder on which practices get a walk-in visit versus a phone-only path.

- Feed back what you're actually hearing on calls, the real objections and the real language clinics use, so positioning keeps improving.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- You can get a stranger on the phone to keep talking past the first ten seconds. We can teach you the product; we can't teach you this.

- Comfortable with rejection and volume. Most calls end in no, and that's fine, that's the job.

- Clear, confident phone voice and genuine curiosity about the person on the other end of the line, not just the pitch.

- Organized enough to keep a CRM honest without being told twice.

- Prior cold-calling, telesales, or outbound experience is a plus but not required. What matters is that you've talked to strangers for money before, in some form: retail, canvassing, fundraising, tutoring sales, anything.

- Students and recent grads welcome. This works well alongside a class schedule.

- Based in or near the South Bay / San Jose area preferred, for occasional in-person coordination.

COMPENSATION

100% commission, uncapped, paid on qualified meetings booked and pilots started. No base, no hourly. This is structured for someone who wants a real seat in an early-stage go-to-market motion and is willing to bet on their own ability to get people on the phone, not a standard paid internship. Exact rates discussed at offer. Can work around a class schedule.

WHY THIS ROLE, RIGHT NOW

OmniKair is pre-case-study and founder-led. You'd be one of the first people cold calling on behalf of this product, which means the script isn't fixed, the objections aren't fully mapped, and what you learn in week two changes what we say in week three. If you want to watch, and shape, a go-to-market motion from close to zero, this is that seat.

To apply: reach out to Rohan at rohan@omnikair.ai with a short note on why this role and a phone number where we can actually reach you.
