Script Coverage Internship information
What is a Script Coverage Internship job?
A Script Coverage Internship involves reading screenplays, TV scripts, or other written materials and providing structured feedback in the form of script coverage. This typically includes a summary, analysis of strengths and weaknesses, and a recommendation on whether the script should move forward in development. Interns gain hands-on experience in storytelling, industry standards, and what makes a script marketable. The role is common in production companies, talent agencies, and literary management firms, and is ideal for aspiring screenwriters, producers, or development executives.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Script Coverage Internship position, and why are they important?
Strong analytical reading skills, attention to detail, and a background in film, literature, or creative writing are essential for a Script Coverage Internship. Familiarity with script formatting software like Final Draft and experience with coverage forms or databases are often required. Excellent written communication, time management, and the ability to provide constructive feedback help interns stand out. These abilities are crucial to efficiently evaluating scripts and providing insightful feedback to support development teams and producers.
What types of scripts will I typically review during a Script Coverage Internship?
As a Script Coverage Intern, you can expect to read a variety of scripts, including feature-length screenplays, television pilots, and sometimes short films, spanning multiple genres. The exact slate may depend on the company's current projects and submissions, offering a mix of both produced writers and emerging talent. This diversity provides valuable exposure to industry standards and storytelling techniques, helping you develop a keen eye for what makes a script stand out. You'll often summarize plot points, evaluate strengths and weaknesses, and make recommendations for further consideration.

About the Position
Join the team for a Fall 2026 internship! The Lab Test organization at Gulfstream designs, builds, and operates 15 state-of-the-art HardwareintheLoop (HWIL) engineering simulation labs. These labs support internal Gulfstream engineers who specialize in aircraft subsystems such as brakes, engines, and flight controls. Engineers use these labs to test and validate their systems before they are deployed on an actual aircraft.
Each lab is a full representation of a Gulfstream aircraft, allowing engineers to "fly" the system in a simulated environment. The labs integrate real aircraft controllers with a simulation platform running highfidelity subsystem models. Our team develops these models using MathWorks tools such as Simulink and MATLAB, then deploys them on realtime simulation platforms (ADI, Speedgoat, NI) that interface directly with aircraft system controllers (e.g., FCS, brakes, engines).
The team also uses scripting in Python in order to facilitate the testing of aircraft interfaces, create utilities that support the lab operations, as well as create tools for our own group's usage. You may be asked to work on a Simulink model, Python script, the real time simulation platform, or work on integration tasks between the simulation platform, simulation models and the aircraft controllers.
