Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst will support Barrow Wise's Chicago Public Schools (CPS) project, and perform the following duties:

  • Conduct and facilitate requirement gathering sessions, Perform Fit/Gap Analysis, and develop and document Business, System Requirements, User Story, and Use Case Scenarios.
  • Conduct and facilitate Joint Application Design sessions and develop functional and technical design documentation for business process changes and report creation development.
  • Perform and validate System Configuration and Set-ups in all test environments, conduct Conference Room Pilots, and deploy changes into Production.
  • Document test strategy and test plans and write test scenarios, cases, and scripts.
  • Lead testing efforts including system, integration, and user acceptance, preparing user training materials, and delivering training to the user community.
  • Provide project defect management.
  • Conduct and facilitate business process analysis sessions and develop documentation of business process models, workflows, business requirements, use case scenarios, user story documentation, functional specifications and designs, and requirements traceability matrix.
  • Implement PMO documentation standards and SDLC processes and provide process improvement recommendations.
  • Perform assigned Level 2 Support tasks in the functional area for the relevant Business Applications.
  • Drive resolutions for any support escalations from Business Leaders and Technical Support.
  • Provide deliverables including Business Requirements Document (BRD), Functional Requirements Specification (FRS/Functional Specifications, Use Cases, User Stories, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Business Process Models, Gap Analysis, and Stakeholder Analysis.
  • Work effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Work onsite and telework.

An ideal candidate has the following:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or another similar quantitative field
  • Certification(s) in PMI, PBA, CBAP, and/or ITIL
  • Business Analysis experience in cross-functional implementations
  • Minimum five (5) years of related business analysis experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related data analysis experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in Education (K-12) project or program work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
