Job description

This is a Part Time position with 12 hour shifts in the ICU Float Pool within our La Jolla Hospitals (Memorial and Green). The shifts are varied and equal 48 hours per 2 week pay period. Benefits eligible. Weekend requirement of 2 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period. Training schedule is part time.

Dayshift: 0700 to 1930. Nightshift: 1900 to 0730. Shift is subject to vary after each 4-week scheduling period. 

This position is eligible for New Hire Incentives of $2K.

Supporting excellence in patient and family-centered care, the Site Based Float Pool provides critical nursing support to our acute care units at the Scripps La Jolla, Scripps Green and Scripps Encinitas hospitals. We invite you to join our highly engaged team of Float Pool Registered Nurses within ICU responsible for providing direct patient care that includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. With quality patient and family-centered care in mind, the RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This role requires you to float to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and Scripps Green Hospital in Torrey Pines. Floating to PCU, DOU, Tele, Oncology, MS and other areas will be required.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

One (1) year of recent RN experience in an adult ICU
California Registered Nurse License
Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification
Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
NIH Certification
Six (6) months of RN Progressive Care experience and 2 years of ICU experience
