Will scribes be replaced by AI?

Scribes perform detailed documentation and note-taking in medical settings, and while AI tools can assist with transcription and data entry, they are unlikely to fully replace human scribes due to the need for clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills. Certified medical scribes working in hospitals or clinics may earn higher wages, especially with specialized skills or certifications. Overall, compensation varies but is generally considered an entry-level to mid-level position in the healthcare industry.
