Job description

CIS is now recruiting both a first and second shift maintenance technician for a manufacturing plant in Northeast Columbia, SC. This is a rare and excellent opportunity to settle into a career with a company that truly values their employees and their work. 
Position Summary the Maintenance Technician II installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the businesses goals and objectives. 
Shift

  • 1st Shift: 5am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30pm - 2am, Monday - Thursday

Pay

  • $30/hour, potentially more depending on experience.
  • Paid weekly via direct deposit or company issued pay card.

Job Duties

  • Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanical skills including but limited to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, Programmable Logic Controllers and Ladder Logic. Troubleshoots and repairs production machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, schematics, electrical drawings and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustments.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work area.
  • Engages in activities that create a continuous improvement environment: sustains lean processes, suggests areas of improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and safety, and actively supports lean, 5S, and value stream management initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Primary Experience Requirements

Three years of machining experience with increasing complexity and responsibility is required.

Skills and Competencies

All employees are expected to demonstrate accountability, collaboration, communication, customer focus, and innovation. Additional requirements of this position include:

  • Ability to interpret prints and schematics.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, mechanical systems, PLCs, and Ladder Logic.
  • Ability to detect differences in the color of wires in order to perform necessary machine and facility maintenance.

Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Ability to pass a 10-panel urine drug screen
  • Ability to pass a nationwide criminal background check
