Metal Fabrication Shop Helper / Material HandlerJob Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Metal Fabrication Shop Helper / Material Handler to support daily operations in a busy metal fabrication shop. This is an all-around shop position responsible for moving materials, assisting fabricators, preparing work areas, maintaining a clean and organized shop, and helping with various production tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Move and stage raw materials, metal parts, and finished products throughout the shop.

  • Load and unload materials and assist with material handling activities.

  • Assist fabricators and welders with daily production tasks.

  • Prepare materials for cutting, welding, grinding, and fabrication.

  • Use basic hand and power tools as directed.

  • Help measure, mark, organize, and stage materials for production.

  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and deliveries.

  • Keep work areas, equipment, and production areas clean and organized.

  • Remove scrap metal and maintain proper housekeeping throughout the shop.

  • Assist with grinding, deburring, sanding, and other basic metal preparation tasks.

  • Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.

  • Perform general shop duties and other tasks as assigned.

  • Work as part of a team to keep production moving efficiently.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.

  • Ability to safely lift and move materials.

  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools.

  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
