Job description

MPS Group, Inc., is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team at the Stellantis Detroit Assembly Complex-Mack located in Detroit, MI. This individual will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
  • Collect trash, recyclables, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal.
  • Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal streams.
  • Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
  • Assist supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
  • Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
  • Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers.
  • Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
  • Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks.
  • Operate Burden carriers.
  • Follow all plant- related safety guidelines.
  • Sort and bale recyclable material.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One-year experience in waste management.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
