Position Requirements
Sunstate is a proud Second Chance employer that evaluates every candidate on a case-by-case basis.
  • You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines.. 
  • Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred. 
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing equipment repairs.
  • Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
  • Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
  • Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
  • Diesel laptop and welding experience is strongly preferred.
  • Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.
