What you'll do

Your engineering ingenuity, wonder & magic in coming up with a powertrain that supports the concepts will be instrumental in shaping the perception of Scout as a brand, as well as gaining peer admiration in the automotive industry.ย ย ย ย 

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Support the development, integration, and calibration of the powertrain and drive systems for Scout pickup trucks and SUVs (BEV / EREV)ย 
  • Coordinate Drive system function integration activities across internal teams and suppliers, including alignment on requirements, calibration strategy, software maturity, validation status, and release timelinesย 
  • Lead and contribute to inverterrelated calibration topics such as torque delivery, efficiency, thermal behavior, diagnostics, and overall drivability across operating conditionsย 
  • Own the development and calibration of Scoutspecific Drive functions, from concept to series release, ensuring a robust and authentic offroad driving experienceย 
  • Define and manage the function bring-up together with our software supplier, including the onsite support at the supplier for the commissioning for the functionsย 
  • Develop and execute test cases for Drive system functions across SiL, HiL, testbench, and vehicle testing, including data analysis, documentation, and validation signoffย 
  • Coordinate software release readiness, ensuring requirement coverage, calibration completeness, and validation compliance with program milestonesย 
  • Work closely with powertrain hardware, chassis, vehicle dynamics, systems engineering, and E/E teams to align on technical solutionsย 
  • Support prototype and vehicle testing activities, including calibration drives, offroad testing, data collection, analysis, and technical reportingย 
  • Collaborate effectively in a crossfunctional and global environment to deliver integrated, highquality powertrain and OffRoad solutionsย 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location inย Novi, Michigan.ย .ย 
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.ย 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyย from time to time.
What you'll bringย

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical fieldย 
  • 4+ years of experience in powertrain or drive system development, calibration, and validation within concept or serial vehicle programs, preferably for electric or electrified vehicles (BEV / EREV)ย 
  • Handson experience with function and integration coordinationย 
  • Proven experience in function development across the Vmodel, including requirement definition, interface coordination, test case development, validation, and software release activitiesย 
  • Experience developing, integrating, and validating Drive system functions, such as on-road and offroad functionsย 
  • Practical experience with calibration and validation on testbenches and vehicles, including calibration test trips, structured data analysis, and technical documentationย 
  • Familiarity with calibration and development tools such as ETAS INCA, MATLAB/Simulink, and data analysis environmentsย 
  • Ability to read and understand Simulink models and Cbased source code to support calibration, debugging, and functional discussionsย 
  • Experience working with crossfunctional teams and suppliers, coordinating technical topics, timelines, and deliverables in a global development environmentย 
  • Highly motivated, handson engineer with strong ownership, analytical thinking, problemsolving skills, and a passion for electric vehicles and offroad capabilityย

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
