STATUS: PART-TIME (NON EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Montclair State University Ice Arena's Scoreboard Operator, you will assist in the execution of the all games by operating scoreboards and tracking minutes played.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Assure all players are checked in and present on official score sheets
  • Track all relevant statistics on the scoreboard during games
  • Track minutes played for all players using assigned sheets
  • Assist in game preparations/clean up as needed
  • Work closely with League team members to ensure member satisfaction
  • Complete any other special projects and daily assignments as directed by the General Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma
  • Experience operating a scoreboard preferred
  • Basic reading and writing skills are required
  • Must have an understanding of basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • General knowledge of the sports industry
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors
  • May be required to squat, stoop or bend
  • Will be required to operate a computer
  • Facility has intermittent noise
