Job description

Description The Town of Windsor provides a wide variety of youth and adult programs, including: operation of the Windsor Senior Recreation Center, active adult programming and special events. The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking responsible individuals with a passion for working with active adults in a recreational program setting. Examples of Duties The Town of Windsor's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and team-oriented individuals to serve as a Recreation Program Leader- Scorekeeper for adult softball and basketball leagues.

Softball Scorekeepers: Prepare fields prior to games by watering, dragging, and chalking the infield. Accurately maintain game scores and records during league play. Assist with pre-game check-in procedures and support a positive game-day experience.

Basketball Scorekeepers: Operate the scoreboard, game clock, and shot clock as assigned. Accurately record game scores and monitor game timing. Support officials and teams to ensure efficient game operations.

For both sports, scorekeepers will work closely with game officials, team managers, and Parks and Recreation staff to facilitate smooth league operations and maintain consistent communication with the Recreation Coordinator. Qualifications Basic knowledge of softball/baseball and basketball rules and gameplay. Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and customer service skills. Previous scorekeeping experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided. Availability Requirements Softball: Monday and Wednesday afternoons/evenings during the summer season.

Basketball: Sunday afternoons/evenings during the spring and fall seasons. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy sports, working with the public, and contributing to a positive recreation experience for participants and spectators alike. Supplemental Information A completed Town of Windsor application is required in order to be considered for this position.
