Job Summary:
As a Laborer, you will support underground construction crews by assisting with conduit and cable placement, trenching, restoration, and equipment operation to complete telecommunications infrastructure projects. You will contribute to safe and efficient project execution while maintaining quality standards and supporting field leadership.
Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies for daily work
• Safely operate tamps, jackhammers, core drills, concrete saws, and related construction equipment
• Hand dig trenches and expose underground utilities using shovels, picks, and digging bars
• Place conduit, cables, anchors, pedestals, vaults, and splice conduit sections
• Restore worksites upon completion, including refilling trenches, tamping soil, and temporary asphalt placement
• Clean and maintain company vehicles and assigned equipment
• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs
Required Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid unrestricted driver's license
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
Experience
• 0-2 years of construction or laborer experience preferred
• Experience in underground utility or telecommunications construction is a plus
Skills and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to lift and move 50-150 lbs.
• Ability to walk long distances (1+ miles) over uneven terrain
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Ability to safely perform duties in standard and high-risk environments
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous underground utility construction experience
• CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
• OSHA certification
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Walk long distances over uneven terrain
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and MVR
