Role: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Fort Payne, Alabama 35967
Schedule: Monday- Friday
Shift: 8am-5pm
Status: Temp 12 Months
Description:
  • As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will conduct supplier qualification and development. Daily experience with Generation Core Engine parts with high technical/ quality level. You will be working and close networking with multi-cultural environment with different departments locally and globally. Closely collaborating with the global SCM process. SQE is using digitalization tools to improve our processes. SQE is addressing nonconformances with conducting containment, RCA, and implementing preventative measures & risk mitigation measures.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Supplier Qualification: Implement and control the support of the cross-functional supplier selection team with required quality data; conduct supplier audit and supplier capability or capacity audit and assessment of supplier risk.
  • Product and Process Qualification: Lead cross-functional teams to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) according to applicable process descriptions and standards. Support the supplier quality measures along the complete process chain.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Planning, implementation, optimization and controlling of the efficiency of the defined Supplier Quality Management Process (procedures, guidelines and tools), to ensure the requested quality. Coaching supplier to follow Quality Management Process and usage related tools.
  • Supplier Improvement: Initiate and implement supplier quality improvement programs, quality root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation measurements at the supplier. Track implementation and effectiveness of measures.
  • Design Review and Improvement (supplier early involvement): Participate design review as main interface of SQM with design engineers. Conduct design review with suppliers for new design. Initiate early supplier involvement for new design if necessary. Support DTL (design to localization) and DTC (design to cost) effort.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor of Science Degree required in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or a similar discipline. Master's Degree desired Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • You have experience performing supplier qualification, product/ process qualification & technical supplier development to provide a global, demand covering, quality assured and cost-effective supply base for responsible suppliers
  • You have experience in leading projects and running virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment. You are a self-starter, determined and self-reliant; your organization, strategic, analytical thinking, leadership skills and intercultural expertise round up your profile
  • You have extensive knowledge in welding and coating. CWI certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO & ASME Standards.
  • Open minded, results & solution oriented and strong analytical thinking. Advanced Communication/Presentation skills, basic Commercial Knowledge,
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and other quality & risk management methodologies
  • Project Management Experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of time. Must have or be able to obtain a passport
  • Lead Auditor experience or certification
  • You are fluent (writing and speaking) in English
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in technical field and/or working in Supply Chain
