Job description

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in Windsor, CT. This position will focus on soil and groundwater sampling, subsurface delineation, and environmental spill response and remedial activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Soil, groundwater, and air sampling, coordinate and oversee soil borings and monitoring well installation, provide remediation oversight, perform asbestos and lead paint sampling, and assist in data management and evaluation and preparation of technical reports.
  • Communicating with a project team and interaction with clients and subcontractors.
  • Corresponding with regulatory agencies.
  • Development of work plans and report writing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline required.
  • 0 to 5 years of related environmental experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to drive to and from jobsites as necessary + transporting equipment necessary to perform field activities. (Must have access to a personal vehicle)
  • 40 Hr. Hazwoper training highly desirable.
  • Industrial Hygiene experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends if needed.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license required

Annual salary for this role is $58,000 to $75,000.
The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications - not related to any applicant's characteristics protected by local, state or federal law. Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
As part of your role, you may be required to work in environments where the use of a respirator is necessary. In such cases, H2M will provide appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations. Therefore, you will be required to participate in any necessary respirator fit testing, training, and medical evaluations in accordance with OSHA standards and company policy.
Travel is required for this position, and you may be required to use your own vehicle for work related travel including travel to and from job sites if an H2M vehicle is not available. Due to the nature of the position, it is expected that you are able to work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
