Job description

The **Bioanalytical Research and Instrumentation Center** is looking for a **Research Staff Scientist, Immunology** to drive antibody discovery using state of the art technologies. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented scientist with strong background in immunology / cell biology and experience developing cell-based assays to support our efforts in target validation, early phase antibody discovery and biomarker discovery. This person will be a critical part of cross-functional scientific teams that design and develop innovative diagnostic products. The successful candidate will have a background in immunology and bioanalytical techniques. This position will be part of a team that works with project managers, technical leads, scientists, and manufacturing teams to develop the next generation of IDEXX diagnostic assays.* Draw from your broad experience in immunology, biochemistry, and/or biophysics to effectively drive the development and bioanalytical characterization of complex proteins and antibodies* Support multi-functional teams with immunization strategies and antibody discovery activities including development of antibody screening for new species.* Support bioanalytical teams to deliver characterization milestones.* Collaborate and communicate with internal and external network to reach program goals through effective exchange information.* Thorough documentation through laboratory notebooks, reports, design history files.* Participate on and manage teams, planning and organizing team activities.* Drive programs to meet milestone deliverables.* Maintains knowledge of products and procedures, developments in the field and industry.* May produce and/or test reagents and final products and perform other product-related activities.* May participate in conferences, webinars and seminars to continue to develop knowledge base.* Preferably a Ph.D. with 5-7 years of industry experience in immunology, biomedical engineering, or related fields.* Strong skill in bioanalytical techniques such as BLI, SPR, Western Assays, etc.* Strong skills in basic biochemical and immunological methods including cell culture, immune cell isolations* Deep knowledge of antibody discovery techniques* Proven record in immunization strategies including immunogen development* Thorough understanding of high-throughput antibody selection and screening techniques.* Ability to analytically and creatively think in addition to complex problem-solving.* Ability to work with and on cross-functional development teams.* Ability to synthesize requirements from variety of sources, create allocated work plans and report on status and commitments.* Show excellent project planning and leadership skills to manage large, complex projects.* Demonstrate an ability to gather and manage necessary resources and influence without authority.* Utilize strong technical decision-making and risk assessment skills.* Strong verbal, technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
