Job description

Company Description Lieberman Life Sciences and Neuropsychotherapeutics Consulting is a specialized consulting practice focused on advancing knowledge and innovation at the intersection of life sciences, neuroscience, and therapeutic development. The organization supports academic, clinical, and industry partners with expert guidance on research design, scientific communication, and translation of complex findings into actionable insights. Work often involves emerging areas of neuropsychology, psychopharmacology, and behavioral health, with an emphasis on evidence-based approaches. Team members collaborate closely with subject-matter experts and stakeholders who value clear, accurate, and ethically grounded scientific communication.
Role Description The Science Writing Assistant will support the development, editing, and organization of scientific documents, including literature summaries, research briefs, grant materials, presentations, and client-facing reports. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing current literature in life sciences and neuropsychotherapeutics, summarizing key findings, drafting clear and concise text for diverse audiences, and ensuring factual accuracy and consistency across materials. The role involves collaborating with consultants to refine arguments, improve structure, and adapt content for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities also include maintaining reference lists, following style guides, preparing slide decks or visual aids, and assisting with quality control on all written outputs. This is a part-time, on-site role based in New York, NY.

  • Familiarity with neuroscience, psychology, pharmacology, or related life sciences; coursework or prior research experience is highly beneficial.
  • Competence with citation styles (e.g., APA, AMA, Vancouver) and reference management tools (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and adherence to ethical standards in scientific reporting.
  • Ability to work independently on-site, manage part-time hours effectively, and respond to feedback in a timely, professional manner.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or advanced study in a relevant field (e.g., neuroscience, psychology, biology, public health, science communication) preferred.
  • Comfort with basic productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and willingness to learn new systems as needed.
