Position Overview:

An early-stage biotechnology/genetics firm is seeking a full-time Scientific/Medical Writer to research, write, and edit the company's scientific reports. Rare opportunity to amplify the message of a team as it shares contributions across multiple disease areas. The writer will work with multiple teams to develop articles, presentations, and manuscripts targeted for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Ideal candidates are curious by nature, have strong project management skills, and can work independently.

What You'll Do:

  • Draft key manuscripts using core technology in genetics, statistics, and machine learning
  • Work with the project teams to develop, review, and produce abstracts, posters, and oral presentations for presentation at scientific meetings
  • Must be able to communicate comfortably with external investigators and experts in planning scientific publications

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience writing/editing scientific documents and publications (not counting graduate or postdoc writing).
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline, prefer an advanced degree.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Highly preferable to have previous experience in a medical communications agency
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, think critically, and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with reference management software and publications databases.
  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • You love genetics and the latest in precision medicine, as in this role you'll work with a team that includes geneticists, biostatisticians and clinicians.
