The (USA) Director, Data Science leads the development and execution of advanced data science strategies to drive business insights and innovation. This role oversees the design, testing, and deployment of machine learning models and analytical solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The position requires collaboration across functions to translate complex data into actionable strategies, mentor technical teams, and promote continuous improvement. The Director also guides data quality initiatives and fosters the integration of emerging technologies to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency within the company.
About the team:
The team operates within the Merchandising Decision Sciences organization, focusing on identifying causal drivers of customer behavior to inform merchandising strategies. It develops advanced models that integrate factors such as assortment, price, inventory, channel, and asset allocation to optimize decisions. By evaluating trade-offs, interactions, and constraints, the team recommends coordinated actions that enhance overall customer and enterprise value. Leveraging expertise in machine learning, data science, and business strategy, the team drives impactful insights that support data-driven merchandising decisions aligned with organizational goals.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the development and deployment of advanced data science models to address complex business challenges and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee data strategy formulation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and leveraging data assets for measurable impact.
  • Guide and mentor data science teams in coding, testing, and validating machine learning algorithms and analytical models.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into actionable data-driven solutions and insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating model performance, scalability, and sustainability across multiple data environments.
  • Communicate findings effectively to influence decision-making and support organizational goals.
