HS Science Teacher 1.0 FTE

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School District is seeking a caring, outgoing, and transformative Science teacher. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Junior High and High School Science classes, with a background working with at-risk students and experiential learning.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to differentiate curriculum to a wide range of learners
  • Proven skill in forming, building, and maintaining positive relationships
  • Evidence of successful experiences with students at a secondary level

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborate and work with fellow teachers to provide the best growth and opportunities for high school students
  • Create a flexible, safe learning environment that is conducive to individualized and small group learning
  • Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
  • Document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes
  • Understand and utilize district technologies to support learning for students
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School District
JWP School District is made up of three picturesque communities; the most northern community is nestled at the southern end of Lake Elysian, offering beautiful scenery. Waldorf and Pemberton are both wistful farming communities framed by grain elevators, coffee shops, "Ma and Pa Stores" and many other amenities.
Janesville, Waldorf, and Pemberton offer a variety of services, shops, and restaurants which will meet most needs and wants. All three communities offer relief from hectic city life but also provide convenience as bedroom communities to access larger cities. Waseca, Owatonna, Mankato and Albert Lea offer combinations of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. Rochester is within easy driving distance giving access to world-renowned medical treatment. Minneapolis and St. Paul are a quick 90-minute drive north with the entertainment of professional sports, symphony orchestras, and an international airport. Residents who live in and around the three communities have sufficient opportunities to play golf, fish in their favorite lake, or participate in community recreation activities.
Position: Science Teacher
Beginning Date: 2026-2027 School Year
Salary: Per JWP Education Association Master Agreement ($49,412-$55,744 for first-year teachers, dependent upon education level; additional credit given for years of experience)
FTE: 1.0
Employment Requirements/Conditions: Applicants must hold a current teaching license by the Minnesota Department of Education. Science 5-8 required. Earth and Space Science and Chemistry preferred.
