Job description

V A C A N C Y

POSITION:                       Certified Science Tutor

LOCATION:                     Oak Forest High School

EFFECTIVE DATE:          TBD

POSTED:                          February 25, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:         

1.  A bachelor's degree in Science or a related subject area.

2.  A valid Illinois Certificate Type 90 preferred.

3.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:  To promote scientific literacy by assisting students in the development and application of scientific skills, knowledge and principles.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  Tutors secondary pupils in science, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education and appropriate curriculum publications as guidelines in addressing individual course content.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:      

1.   Work Year: 4 hours per day for 140 days or less during the 2025-26 school year.  The exact number of days will depend on the       start date of the chosen candidate.

2.   Fringe Benefits:  Not Applicable

3.   Salary: $130.00 per day

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated continually on an informal basis.
