Description
The goal of this project is to encourage younger students to become stewards of the Sarasota Bay. The assistant will work with students on projects, participate in field activities, and help with writing an article about the program.
Examples of Duties
  • Work with students on class experiments
  • Work with faculty during field trips
  • Create an interactive activity for evenings when students are on campus.
  • Work with faculty on general maintenance
  • Assist with writing
Students can receive course credit as an internship through the Office of Career and Engagement. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Have experience working with middle and high school students.
  • Familiarity with the scientific method and experimental design, and has a keen interest in science education.
  • Willing to stay on campus for evening programming

Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to work with faculty in writing and editing a manuscript.
