Your New Role...

We're seeking an exceptional Editor-Writer to help shape and deliver highly actionable wellness content across a wide range of formats - from social media to newsletters, audio, video, and interactive experiences.

This role sits at the intersection of service journalism and wellness storytelling, translating complex ideas into accessible, inspiring, and practical content that empowers audiences to make meaningful changes in their lives.

While fluency in health, science, and wellness is key, this is not a traditional health-reporting role. Rather, it's an opportunity for a creative, multidisciplinary storyteller to help define how CNN's Wellness vertical engages and activates audiences.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Creation + Execution

Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop smart, innovative, short-form and multi-platform content concepts.

Translate a wide spectrum of wellness themes - including human connection, mental health, fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, and longevity - into accessible formats that spark discovery, encourage behavior change, and meet audiences where they are.

Build and refine repeatable, audience-friendly formats that create habit and stickiness.

Support and elevate the work of subject-matter experts, including collaborating on scripts, bookings, pre-interview prep, and adapting content for newsletters, social platforms, and visual storytelling.

Contribute meaningfully to the editorial direction and creative evolution of CNN's Wellness vertical.

Qualifications & Experience...

7-10+ years of professional writing and editing experience, ideally across digital media, service journalism, or multi-platform content creation.

Demonstrated ability to write with clarity, voice, precision, and speed - and to edit decisively under tight deadlines.

Strong ability to digest, interpret, and fact-check complex research, scientific findings, and wellness trends.

Passion for or direct experience with health, wellness, or human-behavior-centered content.

Sharp instincts for how storytelling evolves across mediums - especially as social platforms and audience behaviors change.

Excellent research skills and a journalist's commitment to accuracy and rigor.

Experience with audio or podcast formats is a plus.

How We Get Things Done...

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
