Job description

La Jolla Country Day School is seeking qualified substitute teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates must possess a bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field, and should have prior teaching experience.

Substitutes who possess the following will be given preference:

  • Specific expertise in areas of child development and classroom management/organization
  • The availability to accept assignments when scheduled several days in advance, and/or sometimes at the last minute due to illness
  • Reliable contact information and responsiveness

As a substitute, there is no guarantee of a specific amount of work nor a set schedule of employment. Work will be offered only on an as-needed basis.
