A smarter store starts with smarter communication. Theatro, our user-friendly, voice-driven AI platform provides retail workers with real-time, discreet, and efficient communication - helping them stay safe and productive while delivering top-notch customer service.
Job Description
Architect and lead development of real-time speech processing pipeline: Voice Command detection, VAD (voice activity detection), ASR, TTS, noise suppression, echo cancellation, and keyword spotting.
Optimize ASR models (e.g., Whisper, Deepgram, Cerence, Sensory) for different voice commands.
Ensure tight integration with Gen AI systems and contextual agent workflows.
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of speech scientists, machine learning engineers, and software developers.
Define and execute the strategic roadmap for speech-related technologies in alignment with company goals.
Guide research and development efforts in speech recognition (ASR), speech-to-text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), speaker identification, and related areas.
Partner with firmware and hardware teams to fine-tune microphone array configuration and audio signal processing chain.
Establish evaluation metrics for ASR accuracy, latency, false acceptance rate (FAR), false rejection rate (FRR), and TTS quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, speech technology, or related field.
At least 7+ years of experience in speech development and research, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions.
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
Adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
Self-motivated and proactive in driving results.
Target Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $178,000 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
